What is Genus Pepsis?

I am researching this topic for my eighth grade Language Arts class. This is unfamiliar topic to me, and I need to research this topic before I can present it to my students. I want to learn everything possible about his topic.

1. What is Genus Pepsis?
2. Are there any websites that will help me learn about Genus Pepsis?
3. Are there any books or articles that I can read on this topic?
4. Is there anyone I can contact that would be familiar with this topic?

Hi Mr.E. I found out that Genus Pepsis are tarantula wasps that grow up to 14-40 mm long. They only come out during the summer and the males eat nectar from the milkweed leaves. I found the website for Tarantula wasps on digital-desert.com/wildlife/tarantula-wasps.html. -Precious

A genus pepsis is in a tarantula hawk. It is in the classification of Anamals, Arthropods, Insects, Hymenoptera, Aculeata, Vespoidea, pompilidae, Pepsinae, and pepsis. Thare is about 18 species in around new mexico and arizona. They can range from 14-40mm in size. There habitat is in open deserts and you can mostly see them in the summer. Adults sometimes take nectar, but like milkweed alot. Mating takes place on flowers or hilltops and its defended by the female. Femals seek out tarantula burrows and paralyze the male and bury him in a burrow. Then she lays a egg and the egg larva feeds of the dead male. -RU$$ELL $WIFT-
